Happy Day To You, Mr Burns, From The Howff Bar – Nusa Lembongan

Ahhhh good ‘ol January 25, the classic Robbie Burns Day giving whisky bars in Bali something to celebrate, particularly us at The Howff Whisky, Gin, & Wine Bar at Batu Karang Lembongan Resort & Day Spa….with a wee dram or two! Who was Robbie Burns and why a whole day named after him? For those of you living under a Scottish Kilt, Robbie Burns was the iconic Scottish poet, speaking the common language of the people, most famously known for his writing of “Auld Lang Syne.” He won the award of “Greatest Scot of All Time” – even beating out the warrior William Wallace…so ay, he deserves a day to celebrate this lad. Traditionally every year, a big supper is held, reciting the Selkirik Grace, followed by the great bagpipes piping in the haggis, and “The Ode To A Haggis” recited with the haggis cut open. Finally, the end of the supper is Toasted to the Lassies….and a fine evening it is! If haggis isn’t your thing, there is always a dram to taste & toast, so come visit us at The Howff Whisky, Gin, & Wine Bar for a rare single malt to pay homage to the lad that was Mr Robbie Burns.
